About Chef Bruja
Chef Bruja is a Bronx-born artist turned chef whose culinary journey began at just six years old, cooking alongside her grandmother. She spent years in the kitchen honing her skills, but growing up in poverty and low-income housing, she never initially viewed becoming a professional chef as a realistic path.
In 2020, after years of cooking for family and friends, she began hosting pop-ups. What started as small community gatherings quickly grew through word of mouth into multiple sold-out experiences, eventually leading to a role as a corporate caterer.
When the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chef Bruja pivoted to digital storytelling, sharing her food online and rapidly building an audience of over 280,000 followers across platforms. She later released her debut cookbook, Tales of the Bronx: From Bruja’s Kitchen, a tribute to her roots, culture, and creative voice.
Today, Chef Bruja stands at the intersection of food, culture, and visual storytelling. She has collaborated with leading brands including Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Nike, Adidas, Disney, National Geographic, and Walmart, among many others. Through bold flavors and authentic narratives, she continues to redefine modern food culture while honoring where she comes from.
